Finding Hope

Are you anxious?

Does it seem like something is wrong with the world?

Do things not go right for you?

Do you ever wonder if there is more to life?

But I have calmed and quieted my soul,

    like a child quieted at its mother’s breast;

    like a child that is quieted is my soul.

Psalms 131:2

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by work of mouth or by letter.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-16

What can I do to live more fully in this hope?

  • Pray the Novena to the Holy Spirit (below) for nine days and confidently expect an outpouring of His Merciful Love.
  • Know that the Lord loves you, treasures you, and wants what is best for you.
  • Set aside 10 minutes. Ask the Lord, “How can I get closer to You?” and listen for His answer.
  • Contact someone whose faith you admire and ask them a question.
  • Reach out to 1 person this week, someone you probably wouldn’t otherwise reach out to. Ask them how they are doing and maybe pray with them. (Click here for some ideas on how to pray with them.)
